1980 HONDA CBX 1000

I purchased this 1980 Honda CBX from the original owner on May 18, 1985, mileage 1701 (2722 km). Other than needing a cleaning the CBX was in remarkably good condition at the time of purchase. It is entirely original and has received no restoration work at all - the paint, chrome, seat, exhaust system, etc. are all as delivered from Honda. The engine case guards installed on the bike are original Hondaline items.

Purchased at a time when interest in the CBX 1000 model was rather limited, all that has changed as the CBX now appears to be in significant demand from collectors and enthusiasts alike.

I rode this machine less than 300 miles; it is almost too nice to ride. Total mileage is 1935 (3096 km). Smooth and powerful, few will forget their first ride on a CBX 1000. And, of course, there is that unforgettable sound!

Not as common as the initial 1978-1979 CBX model, the 1980 CBX included a number of refinements over the earlier model and, along with the earlier model, was a competent, reliable machine. It is pictured above in Red Rocks Park near Morrison, Colorado.
