I purchased this 1979 GS1000 from the original owner on Sept. 23, 1987. It was virtually like-new when purchased and remains that way today. It is in original condition and has not been restored. This model was the lowest-priced of several GS1000 models offered for 1979 and was one of the last large Japanese "superbikes" to be equipped with wire spoke wheels and mechanical breaker-point ignition. With a rugged, smooth running and reliable engine, the GS1000 is a fine machine with excellent roadability even by today's standards. It was last ridden on March 6, 1988. The odometer shows 6072 miles (9715 km). As with other machines in the collection, the GS1000 is only offered for sale via the terms and conditions detailed on my Q&A Page and associated Selling Page. In addition, there is no asking price.
