I purchased this 1982 GS650G from the 2nd owner in the same family on May 15, 1989. It is the 2nd of 2 red GS650G models that I purchased and is identified elsewhere on this site as "GS650G Red2." It was in nice condition when purchased. A thorough cleaning and additional detail work brought it up to its current condition as pictured. After last being ridden on September 16, 1990 with a mileage reading of 4797 (7675 km), I returned this machine to service on June 8, 2004, a storage period of nearly 14 years. Little effort was required and few problems were encountered, a detailed account is on my Motorcycle Storage Information Page, refer to the section for "GS650G Red2." This machine has since been returned to long-term storage with mileage reading of 4904 (7895 km). For me, the GS650G models were an underrated machine offering a comfortable ride and riding position, excellent performance and reliability plus a great shaft drive system. I can ride them for several hours non-stop and still not want to stop but have to because the fuel gauge is in the red zone. My only complaint - I wish Suzuki had fitted a larger fuel tank! This is the home page for my other red GS650G, a bike that is my primary "rider." Here are 2 photos of it, both taken during a recent ride: ronh.org Four 650s!
Here's a shot of one of my other GS650G models with three of its like-size stablemates: Two of them V-twins, two of them inline fours, two of them shaft drive, two of them chain drive, two of them with air-cooled engines, two of them with liquid-cooled engines, all of them fine performers!
