I purchased this 1965 K11 80cc from a long time friend, Ken Wolohon of Lakewood, Colorado. He was the 3rd owner, having owned the machine for 18 years. Ken did an excellent job of maintaining the K11. It has been ridden over 15000 miles (24140 km) (yes!) and many years ago Ken rode the machine from Denver, Colorado to the top of Mount Evans in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Mount Evans has an elevation of over 14000ft (4268 meters). Ken weighs about 195lbs (88.5KG) and says "I was doing well until I passed about 12000 feet in elevation and then I couldn't quite keep up with the cars." Ken completed the approximately 120 mile (193 km) trip without incident. This is very likely the smallest-displacement machine ever to have completed the Mt. Evans trip from Denver. For a complete photo essay of the ride up Mt. Evans visit my Mt. Evans Ride pages. It's a breathtaking journey! Very similar to the Suzuki K10 and K15 models, this K11 model requires pre-mixed oil and fuel. For 1966 the K10, K11 and K15 models were updated with an oil injection system, eliminating the need for pre-mixed oil and fuel. I am lucky to have a machine like this in such good condition. Few early Japanese 2-stroke machines have been preserved. This machine was last ridden on October 5, 1987. As with other machines in the collection, the K-11 is only offered for sale via the terms and conditions detailed on my Q&A Page and associated Selling Page. In addition, there is no asking price. Are you searching for K-10, K-11 or K-15 parts? If so, visit my Q&A page for a number of links and ideas for finding parts. Do you have a K-10, K-11, K-15 or similar machine? Are you looking for an approximate value? Are you wondering what your machine should sell for? Visit my Q&A Page before sending a message. This page has lots of links and ideas for determining the approximate value of a machine. To answer a question I receive on an intermittent basis regarding K-11 transmission lubricant, the owner's manual specifies 0.65L of standard 20W-40 motor oil. |
