1982 YAMAHA SECA 650

(XJ650RJ)

I purchased this 1982 650 Seca XJ650RJ new on April 23, 1985. It was a "leftover" or "non-current" and was purchased for a bargain price 3 years after its model year.

Overshadowed by the larger and faster 1000cc and 1100cc models of its day yet offering razor-sharp carburetion, a great shaft drive system, comfortable seat, pleasing performance and attractive styling, the Seca 650 was one of the fine mid-size (and overlooked) machines of the early 1980's.

This is an excellent machine in showroom condition. It was last ridden on August 1, 1987. Mileage 1653 (2645 km). It is entirely original and has received no restoration work at all - the paint, seat, chrome, exhaust system, bodywork, etc. are all as delivered from Yamaha. The 1982 model was the only non-turbo 650 Seca offered for sale in the U.S.
